Hi! My name is Ruggero Piazza and I am a Python Developer and a 2x AWS certified Solutions Architect Associate.
I am proficient in Python, with experience building applications using the Flask framework and analysing data with the Panda library.
I am also experienced in serverless and event-driven architectures, including building RESTful API's with API Gateway, Lambda and DynamoDB.
Recently, I have developed automated security checks with Lambda.
I am a problem solver with a strong passion for science and technology, driven by the desire to learn something new every day and achieve the best results in everything I do. My career has taken me down different paths, from music production to high-end restaurants, and now I am at the beginnig of my journey in the exciting world of cloud technologies.
My story begins in Italy, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Science of Communication. To fund my studies, I wrote articles for local newspapers and worked in the music production industry as a stage technician. Being a trained musician myself, I wanted to be fully immersed in the music environment, so I started becoming more involved in my job. Driven by a strong desire to grow, I was quickly promoted to the head of my crew, where I learned how to manage a team. I also developed public relations and conflict resolutions skills, as I had to solve unexpected problems on the spot and deal with different personalities. During this time I had the chance to organise music events, becoming the founder of a drummer festival and a music summer camp, which allowed me to refine my event planning skills.
In 2013 I decided to move to London to experience the local music scenes and play gigs in iconic locations. I have always been passionate about food and London's vibrant and multicultural food landscape ignites my desire to explore this further. I then began a successful career as a sushi chef, working at top-level restaurants and learning from master chefs like Taiji Maruyama. This extreme challenge taught me how to deliver perfect results in a high-pressure environment, where continuous improvement, search for optimisationg and quick problem solving is part of the daily routine. After many years as a chef I worked as a manager, focusing no improving businesses' food quality, operations and customer service.
In 2019, looking for a more stable career, I decided to take some time off and immerse myself in one of my oldest passions: technology. I then started my coding journey, studying Python, building personal projects and completing various courses, including Harvard University's CS50 Introduction to Computer Science and a short course at City University of London. With a solid foundation in Python, I wanted to be knowledgeable in basic networking and cloud technologies. I then joined the AWS Academy program, where I achieved the CCP and SAA certifications. Since then, I've been a proud mentor of the academy, helping new students during their cloud journey.
My diverse background and experience have provided me with a unique set of skills that I believe will be valuable in any company. My passion for problem-solving, my ability to adapt to new environments and challenges, and my focus on achieving the best results will help me excel as a Python Developer and AWS professional. I am eager to contribute my expertise to a team that values high standards, collaboration, and innovation. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and I look forward to the opportunity to work together.
